Uppsala International Summer Session (UISS); what an amazing program! I spent three weeks studying at the language intensive summer school in beautiful Uppsala, Sweden. Their program was very organized and interactive. We had classes Monday through Thursday.
Everyday, as I rode my bike into town, I passed some of the most beautiful architecture I had ever seen, that’s when I realized how amazing it was going to be here; I was finally living my dream! I was in Sweden!
I spent three weeks improving my Swedish language skills: speaking, listening, reading, writing, and grammar. UISS offered fun activities most nights and took us on group excursions. We went on a tour around Uppsala, out to the pubs and restaurants, to a wonderful Moose park called, älgparken and to the silver mine. They also brought us on a tour around Stockholm. All of these activities would not have been possible without the amazing organization of UISS.
Once the three weeks ended, I moved into my more permanent student housing to continue studying in Uppsala at the University. I plan to leave in late June and return to finish my studies in Communication and Nordic Studies at the University of Colorado at Boulder. The summer of 2014 and my 2014-15 academic year will be unforgettable. I will remember my experiences with great fondness and nostalgia.
